Parish Council Meeting - Apologies for anyone who went to the village hall expecting the Parish Council meeting to be taking place on Monday April 15. I didn’t know that this planned date had been changed. It is best to check the noticeboard by the bus-stop for confirmation of meeting dates when the Minutes of the last meeting are published together with an agenda and date for the next meeting. These are usually displayed about a week before the next meeting.

Quiz at Chearsley Village Hall on Saturday April 27. - There are still 2 tables available for this quiz in aid of Florence Nightingale Hospice. Tables are for 8, costing £5 per ticket. Please bring your own refreshments. Contact The Fund-raising office for Florence Nightingale on 01296 429975 to book tickets.

The Bell – favourite village pub - Nominations have opened for this annual competition that aims to showcase the best village pubs in Aylesbury Vale .The annual awards which have been a big success since they are launched by AVDC in 1997 celebrate what makes a village pub a winner, at a time when thousands of locals have closed across the country. The awards give village pubs a fantastic opportunity to gain recognition for the excellent contribution they make towards the overall development of rural communities. To win an award is a mark of quality that will bring real prestige. Time, then to vote for The Bell. Last year, The Bell was awarded Best Community Pub in the Vale. This could be the year when The Bell receives the award for Aylesbury Vale Best Village Pub. Voting can be done online by visiting www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/pubcomp and fill out an online nomination form. Nominations forms are also available from The Bell or Tourist information Centres. Nominations will close on May 17.
