will be beautifully decorated with flowers in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The church will be open each day and after the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on the tower at 10.00 pm on Monday 4th June
Timetable:
12.00 Making Crowns in the Bell Garden
All children are welcome to decorate crowns with jewels and be King
or Queen for the day. Enter the Jubilee Quiz.
1.00 Street Party Lunch or Picnic on the Green
Jubilee street lunch for children and seniors, or bring a picnic to share
with friends on the Green and appear in the Village commemorative
group photograph.
2.00 Treasure Hunt and Party Games
Find the missing jewels and replace them in the crown.
Plus ‘Jubilympics’ in the Bell garden with prizes.
7.30 Jubilee Concert on Screen
See Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Madness, Cliff Richard, Shirley
Bassey, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Jessie J, Ed
Sheeran and JLS perform live from the Palace.
9.30 Candle-light Procession to the Church
Process from the Green, through the village, to St Nicholas
Church with Jubilee lanterns.
10.00 Lighting the Jubilee Beacon
Witness the lighting of a gas beacon on the church tower, sing the
National Anthem, toast Her Majesty and share the Diamond Jubilee
cake.
Free carousel rides for children from 11am ~ 7pm
The Bell will be open for drinks and bar snacks all day
with fish ’n’ chips & barbecue on sale all evening.
