The Race for life is run in aid of Cancer Research every year and this year over 60 people are running as the group Chearsley Chix - the majority being from Chearsley. They were prompted to run as a group after discussing this at Jackie Brown's funeral, and her fight against cancer was the original reason for doing this together, but are running for everyone who has been affected by cancer.
So far they have raised £2,055 on-line, as well as the off line donations made (about £90 of sponsorship at the pub, plus a bit more from individuals). The race takes place this Sunday 11th May at Waddesdon Manor, with the party at the village hall afterwards.
