St Nicholas Church – flowers
A wonderful way of celebrating a special anniversary, birthday, remembering the anniversary of the death of a loved one is by sponsoring or contributing to the cost of the flowers in the church. Our 14th century beautiful church is renowned for always having lovely flower arrangements, thanks to a dedicated team of flower arrangers, who each week throughout the year ensure that the church is filled with flowers. Contributing in this way would also help support and maintain this tradition. Please contact Joy Payne at 1 Bernards Close Phone 208513 or email joychearsley@talktalk.net for more information.

Chearsley Shop - dry cleaning
This is a very convenient service which our shop offers of twice weekly collections and deliveries. However, Jeyan is experiencing some problems with uncollected garments! In particular he has 2 men’s evening suits which have been in the back of shop since early in the year – probably brought in after New Year Celebrations and not thought of or needed since. Jeyan would very much appreciate it if the owners could come and collect (before next New Year). There are other garments as well, so if you think you may have some uncollected cleaning , please call in and speak to Jeyan.

The Show needs you to take part for it to succeed.

Paralympic Torch
Volunteers are needed to help steward the route as the Paralympic torch is lit at Stoke Mandeville on Tuesday August 28 at the start of the 24hr relay to the Olympic Stadium in London. More details can be found on www.buckscc.gov.uk/2012 or phone 01296 387089.

Recycling
To remind everyone that the recycling system changes very soon when the old baskets and boxes for glass will no longer be used. These can be kept for your own purposes. The last time they will be used will be Tuesday August 21, but unless you put a note to say you would like the baskets left, they will be collected up later in the day and taken away. You may well decide not to put out your baskets on this day, but to keep all recycling matter until the new recycling bins can be used and emptied on September 14th. I am sure it will all work perfectly once we get the hang of the new system and new day. I just hope I am not the only house in the village who has not yet received the new recycling bin! I know lots have. Please remember that because of the Bank Holiday, the refuse bins will be collected on Wednesday August 29th – bins only.
