Baby Congratulations - There is news from the Harris family of TreeTops, Watts Green of the birth of Dylan “BamBam” Norman Lamdin born on May 3 – a big healthy baby of nearly 9lb. Congratulations and good wishes to mother Elena, father Hugo and Grandpa Norman.

Chearsley Cricket Club Half term Cricket Camp - Thursday May 30 and Friday May 31 - All ages are welcome whether members or non-members of the Club to take part in the cricket camp at Chearsley Cricket Club on 2 days from 10 until 3. Cost will be £15 per day for each child, and £10 per day for the second and subsequent children in the family. Please wear suitable clothing, bearing in mind it is often cold on the field, cricket kit, but whites not necessary. Bring packed lunch and drinks. Chearsley Best of British Fete – Saturday June 29 - the day is getting closer and stallholders are now ready to receive or collect any items you are able to donate for the various stalls. Raffle tickets, always a very important and exciting part of the day will soon be available to buy. Please buy generously. There are some good prizes to be won for just £1 per ticket. Volunteers to help out in any way on the day are still needed. Please contact Angela Gray if you can help on 202105.

Chearsley Show – September 7 - Show programmes and entry forms have now been distributed around the village. If you did not receive one, please contact Joy Payne at 1 Bernard's Close. As part of the show, the Hanging Basket Competition is another way of taking part in the Show. Most households have a hanging basket, so why not consider entering. Judging will take place in the week beginning July 22. Entry forms are from Joy or the shop.

Classic Car and Boot – September 8 Anyone who has a classic or interesting car is very welcome to bring it along and join in the fun in the grounds of Chearsley Cricket Club. Already a good number of cars have registered to be displayed, but more are always wanted. Contact Mark Haynes of The Forge, Aylesbury Road, Chearsley with details of your car. WheelPower – Tour de Vale Fundraising Bike Ride Sunday June 9 - The 10th Mix 96 Tour de Vale Bike will be held on Sunday June 9 starting from Stoke Mandeville stadium. This is in aid of the charity, WheelPower, which helps disabled children and adults improve their lives through sport. There are 3 routes, all well signed with safety marshals, refreshments and changing facilities at start and finish which are through beautiful countryside and villages. The first, suitable for families is 15 miles which starts at 10.3am, the second is 35 miles and is ideal for the leisure cyclist but to beware of the hills and starts at 10am. The third is 55 miles – the challenging route and starts at 9am. The cost to take part is £10 per adult. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult are free. Entry on the day is £20. Cafe Cibo - Chearsley villagers who have enjoyed coffee, snacks or evening meal at Cafe Cibo in the Parade at Haddenham will be concerned to learn of the sudden brain haemorrhage suffered by Dom on May 4. He underwent surgery and is presently on a life support machine in the Intensive Care Unit at John Radcliffe. The cafe is currently shut while Sylvi spends her days at the hospital. An on-line collection facility has been set up for donations to support Dom and Sylvi while the business is closed.
