Village Hall Management Committee AGM
Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting of the Village Hall Management Committee at the village hall on Monday November 2 at 8pm.
John Race
Those of us who have lived in the Chearsley area for a number of years and can remember the time when televisions and electrical goods could be repaired will probably recall John Race and his small but always very busy TV and electrical repair shop in Church Way Haddenham. This closed many years ago and in retirement John was ordained as a minister in the Church of England and continued to live in Haddenham. Those who remember John and using his services will be saddened to learn that John died recently aged 78.
All About Chearsley
Christmas is starting to appear in the shops and possible ideas for presents could be either a framed or unframed print of Chearsley from a series of prints designed and painted by Alicia Howard. These include All About Chearsley Village; The horse Chestnut Tree and The Allotments. Alicia Howard has lived in Chearsley for over 25 years and has also produced Christmas cards of Chearsley in packs of 4 for £3 which will be on sale in the shop. In addition, Alicia will produce a personalised painting as a special occasion gift, or personalise anything including party invitations, birthday cards or do house portraits and caricatures. Her most recent work was a farewell gift to Rev. John Wynburne on his retirement, caricaturing John on his bike, guitar over his shoulder with the churches of Chearsley, Long Crendon and Nether Winchendon in the background. Please contact Alicia for more information or to discuss any ideas you would like to develop at Alicia@tangerinetiger.net.
