Defibrillator - Volunteers needed
A yellow and green cabinet, housing the new defibrillator is now on the outside of the wall of The Bell, awaiting the electricity supply before it can become operational. The equipment will be registered with the South Central Ambulance Service, (SCAS) is simple to use and full instructions will be included in the cabinet. The Parish Council will be arranging training courses in the village in due course. The Parish Council are looking for volunteers to undertake regular low-level maintenance checks, which would include a weekly visual check of the defibrillator to ensure everything is in order, plus occasional checks that the keypad operates, the cabinet is clean and the spare parts remain in date. The volunteers would also be a point of contact for SCAS, who have asked for a main and 2 back up contacts to be provided. No prior experience or knowledge is needed as a small amount of familiarity/training can be provided. The only qualification is a willingness to give a small amount of your time to help maintain this important village facility. Please contact John Lewis for further information at johnlewis@chearsley.com, or phone 07780 6000640 or 01844 201011 if you would like to help out.
