All things Cricket...

Well, it’s the Bank Holiday weekend....and it’s raining....there’s a surprise!

But despair not... the sun will be shining again tomorrow and Monday according to our impeccably reliable weather forecasters.

Your village Cricket Club has a fantastic programme lined up for the weekend....

While today’s league matches look in the balance, tomorrow the club has been invited to host a Junior cricket match for the county for the first time. This is a fantastic honour for  Chearsley Cricket Club and is both a testament to our emerging status as well as a tribute to many years of ‘hard labour’ by our Groundsman, Larry Warr.

Bucks Under 14s will be playing Cambridgeshire Under 14s. The game starts at midday tomorrow and will probably end around 7 o’clock. We’ll have a barbecue running from lunchtime through the afternoon and the bar will be open for the duration of the match and for ‘afters’.

On Monday, we’ll be staging our customary Bank Holiday ‘Six-a-Side’ Tournament. Eight local teams  will battle it out for honours in a knock-out tournament. The first match will start at around 10.30 and the final will probably take place at around 6.00 – 6.30. Again, we’ll have a bar and barbecue running for the duration.

So, if you are still pondering what to do over the weekend, think no further than CCC.

Come up and support your village club....families welcome as always.

Enjoy your weekend!
