The Bell in Chearsley wins AVDC Best Community Pub of The Year Award
AVDC has been running this annual village pub competition, sponsored by Dayla for 15 years and it is very good news that The Bell has been awarded Best Community Pub of 2012 for supporting their local community. This was one of 6 categories for which 700 nominations for 35 pubs were received. In 2009 The Bell was highly commended and in 2010 it was highly recommended. Congratulations to Sharon and her staff for this well deserved award, all their hard work and enthusiasm in running the pub, and organising so many village events which make The Bell such an important part of Chearsley. Tony Babington, Oli’s Dad, reflected that Oli would have been very proud of this award. As are we all. He would like to thank all the Bell’s supporters and customers.
Don’t forget Christmas Bingo on Tuesday December 4, the Sunday Monthly Quiz and the Christmas meals.

Christmas Celebrations round the Christmas Tree
It is planned for the tree to be erected on The Green on December 7 and for its official lighting to take place a week later on Friday December 14. Keep this date in mind for carols, mincepies and Christmas cheer. More details in due course.
