A busy weekend ahead for Chearsley as the Challenge and Barn Dance will be held THIS Saturday September 10 when there will be a fun Family Challenge afternoon followed by a Barn Dance and Picnic in the grounds of the Cricket Club. The “Challenge” will start at 4pm and will include all kinds of obstacle type races, including horse jumps, crawling under netting and wheel barrow races. It costs £3 per child and£10 for a family. The Barn Dance and family picnic will start after the obstacle races at around 6pm. All money raised from this family afternoon and evening will go towards building the new village hall.
Chearsley Village Classic & Vintage Fun Day will be held THIS Sunday September 11 from 12 to 6pm in the grounds of Chearsley Cricket club, Winchendon Road. Entry is FREE to this great family day out with children’s attractions, vintage coach rides around the local area, live music, vintage and classic vehicles on display, refreshments, bar and a flyover of a Spitfire and a Hurricane during the afternoon. Calendar Boys Calendar Launch New Date
The launch of this new village hall fund-raising idea has now been altered to take place in The Bell on Friday October 14 from 8pm. The calendars will be available to purchase at £10 each and can also be ordered in advance by emailing the village hall committee at chearsleyvillagehall@hotmail.co.uk. At the launch night there will also be some photos available to buy which have not been included in the Calendar (perhaps these photos have been censored?)
Fortnightly Pub Lunches at The Bell
These are 2 course roast lunches including tea or coffee for £7 and are aimed mainly for older Chearsley villagers who want to meet up at The Bell regularly for a delicious lunch and who want to support their local pub. The date of the next lunch will be this Wednesday September 7 at 12.30pm.Please let Sharon know on 01844 208077 if you would like to be included before this date. There will be a choice of pudding available on the day.
