This is the last Chearsley Village News of 2018. Thank you to those who have kept me informed of village events and news over the past year. All news, sad and happy is of interest and importance to villagers. Happy Christmas to all Chearsley residents and their families and all the very Best for a Happy New Year.

Audrey Cooper
To have to report on the death of a Chearsley resident so close to Christmas is very sad. Audrey died on Tuesday December 18 shortly after her admission to hospital. I remember Audrey as always elegant and immaculately dressed, a charming lady. Audrey and her husband, Brian were married in 1960 and moved from Wendover to Chearsley in 1975. Their many good friends in Chearsley have fond memories of wonderful Christmas Day parties in their beautifully restored bar n “Hideaway” in School Lane. Condolences go to Audrey’s husband, Brian and her son, Donald. Her funeral will be held at St Nicholas Church on Monday January 7th at 11.30am.

Survey
The Parish Council has been asked by the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to pass on details of a short survey seeking the public view on an increase in the police element of the Council tax which equates to £2 a month for Band D. The closing date is Wednesday January 9th at 5pm and the survey and more information can be found at https://bit.ly/2QEkGkk.
