Cafe in the Park

A weekly community Cafe every Tuesday from 11am to 1pm. 

Drinks, crumpets, soup, jacket potatoes and homemade cakes.
No charge for food although donations can be made.
Held at the Jubilee Pavilion in the Park in Stone.
Meet your friends or make new friends in a welcoming space - always people to talk to.

Support Annabelle, one of our village teenagers, who will be singing live, to raise money for an expedition to Costa Rica.  Come along, listen to Annabelle and chat with friends, while enjoying a jacket potato with a choice of fillings followed by homemade cakes.

Chearsley has a dog walking WhatsApp group called "Where's Woolly?" The idea being that we can tell each other which fields have sheep and cows in. Owners are often looking for walkers to help them walk their dogs when they are working, sick or away. Many thanks to this year’s ‘Chearsley Litterpick Team’ including Annie Bradley, Nick Brown, Nicola Harrison, Mike Heybrook, Alicia & John Howard, Carole Ilett, David Impey, Susan & Geoff Olding, Richard Phillips, Phil Rawlings, Tricia Tokeley & Andy Wight.

The spoils of this year’s ‘victory’ this morning  included 25 bags of rubbish and miscellaneous items collected from the Chearsley village lanes and approach roads – mainly from the latter.

No thanks whatsoever to all those thoughtless drivers who continue to cast their beer and drinks cans (empty!), coffee cups and other assorted rubbish from their car windows as they pass by. Shame on you!

Many thanks also to Sharon and all her team at The Bell, who served us with refreshments after the morning’s work, including a wonderful selection of delicious cakes and scones.

Geoff Hogbin

Many will have been deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Geoff Hogbin, a true pillar of our community for many years.

His wife Sylvia would like to invite all who knew Geoff to attend a Service of Thanksgiving for his life on Monday 24th February at 2.30pm, to be held in St. Mary's Church, Thame. The family would be delighted to see anyone who would like to join them for the service and stay for a chat over refreshments afterwards.
