"Long to reign over us"

On Wednesday 9th September, The Queen becomes our longest reigning monarch.

To celebrate this occasion, bells will ring out across the country.

Here in Chearsley, a full peal of 5040 changes will be attempted. This will be the first full peal attempt on our bells, one of which is appropriately named ‘Elizabeth R’ in honour of The Queen.

The six ringers will be drawn from those who have helped with the project to install our 3 new bells, all but one living within the benefice.

Ringing will begin at about 4:30 and if successful, will last for just under three hours.
