Filming at The Bell
The Bell car park was crammed full of film crew vans from early morning Friday August 5 when the Endeavour team arrived to film inside the pub. New tables and bar stools were brought in by the crew for the occasion when the 2 stars of the series, Sean Evans who plays Endeavour Morse and Roger Allam, Endeavour’s boss, D.I .Fred Thursday of Oxford City Police acted their scene. Endeavour, a prequel to Morse, is set in the 1960s and based and filmed in and around Oxford. This particular episode does not yet have a name, but will be the 3rd one of the new 4th series which is planned to be shown sometime next Spring. The regular Friday coffee and cake mornings which was unable to be held because of the filming will resume as normal this week.

The Ann Veness Memorial Cricket Match will be held on Sunday August 21 at Chearsley Cricket Ground when past and present members play in memory of Ann Veness who died nearly 4 years ago and who had been a very important part in the development and running of the Club for many years. Everyone is welcome to come up during the afternoon to watch and to enjoy a drink from the club house. All money raised from the afternoon will go to Florence Nightingale Hospice.

Morris Dancing at The Bell
The Morris Dancers will be dancing outside The Bell on Tuesday August 16 at around 7.30pm.

Parish Council
There has been no council meeting during August. The next one is scheduled for Monday September 19 at 7.30pm in the village hall.

Vacancy for Clerk to the Parish Council.
The Council is still seeking a highly motivated and conscientious person to be Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer who will provide administrative support and advice to the Council. Duties will include the compilation of agendas and minutes, dealing with correspondence and follow up actions from Parish Council meetings, payments of bills and preparation of monthly and annual accounts. The job requires a good knowledge of standard office IT packages and accounting systems. Approximately 8 hours per week is required. Applications should be addressed to the Chairman at Cornfields, Cousins Piece, Chearsley HP18 0EY.

The Sunshine Club Charity Fashion Show, which is being held on Sunday August 28 at Tyringham Hall, Cuddington, are asking for donations of good quality clothes. An opportunity to give your wardrobe a sort out and to get rid of any clothes which have not been worn for ages. Please bring them to Tyringham Hall any day during the week beginning Monday August 22.

Turn End in Haddenham Late Summer events
The house and garden are open on Bank Holiday Monday August 29 from 2 to 5.30pm. Entry costs £15 and no booking is needed. On Saturday September 10, there will be an afternoon and talk by Richard Bisgrove, author, broadcaster and horticulturist, entitled “The Modern Garden” held in The Methodist Chapel, High Street, Haddenham at 3.30 until 6.30pm. The talk will be followed by a reception at Turn End garden.
Tickets for this cost £25 and must be booked. The garden will also be open on Saturday September 17 from 2 to 5pm with £4 entry charge, free for children. Refreshments available. Please email turnendtrustevents@gmail.com for booking and more information.
