W.I.
The resolution that the EU should ban bottom trawling which causes catastrophic loss of marine life, put forward by Chearsley W.I. has been chosen to go forward for debate at the Annual Meeting in Liverpool in June. The debate will be between Chearsley’s resolution and one other. This is an amazing and exciting achievement for them. The resolution will be proposed and seconded by means of short speeches given by members of Chearsley W.I., followed by independent speakers who will speak for and against the motion. The Annual Meeting will then vote. Good luck and we look forward to hearing the result.
Eric and Liz Carte
Chearsley’s actors are busy again. Eric and his wife, Liz, are both appearing in a charity performance in aid of the RAF at The Mill at Sonning “Silver Wings over Sonning” with Richard Briers. They are also in the midst of rehearsals for 2 plays to be performed on the cruise ship “Oriana” later this year.
