Village News

St Nicholas, Chearsley
Following the monthly Family Service on Sunday, 24th May, 60 adults and 20 children enjoyed a “bring and share” lunch in glorious weather in the churchyard with our new vicar, the Rev. Joyn Wynburne and his wife, Anna. To mark their arrival in the community, they were presented with a bouquet of flowers and a hamper full of items specific to Chearsley, including the famous Chearsley “calendar girls”calendar, featuring several members of the congregation.

Community Choir Taster Session
This is your opportunity to have a go at singing in a choir. Village Voices is for anyone who wants to sing for fun. The ability to read music is not necessary, nor is any previous experience. There are no auditions. Community choirs are about having fun singing music from around the world for the pure joy of it, in a friendly and informal way.

A taster session, costing £3 per person, is being held in Towersey Memorial Village Hall on Friday, 12th June between 7.30 and 9.30pm.

Sarah Westcott, the musical leader, already leads two community choirs and believes everyone can sing. If there is sufficient interest from this meeting, it is planned to hold regular sessions in Towersey from September.
