Our Vicar
Congratulations to our vicar of Long Crendon with Chearsley and Nether Winchendon. At an Evensong on Saturday 22nd January, the vicar became an Honorary Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. The Bishop of Oxford, The Right Reverend John Pritchard, conducted the ceremony. John Wynburne is now The Reverend Canon John Wynburne. Chearsley Church Warden, John Daishe, writes that this honour is earned over the years and is recognition of his qualities as a priest wherever he has served his flock. There are at any one time a set number of Canons attached to a cathedral. John will have a handful of duties to perform at Christ Church. The Benefice is lucky to have such a quality priest and we can be proud of him.
