Family Fun Day on Sunday May 13 - 12 noon until 4
Everyone in Chearsley is invited to join friends and neighbours in another splendid day at the home of Paul and Ann Persson at Long Meadow Dark Lane. Please bring a picnic, something to sit on and relax in the lovely garden while the children run and around and play. Help is needed to organize activities for the children. Please contact Sharon Sampson on 208740 if you could help with tag rugby, wheelbarrow races, face painting, ice-cream shop, treasure hunt, or have other ideas for fun.

Stepping Stone Centre
St Nicholas Church is collecting non-perishable food items for this centre in Oxford for the homeless. There is a box in the Church for donations. Specifically requested items are cooking oil, sugar, evaporated milk, gravy granules and coffee.

Diamond Jubilee Garden Party
As Buckinghamshire residents, we are all being invited to apply for a free ticket to this event taking place near Henley-on-Thames on Monday June 25, a splendid afternoon to remember with a river pageant themed around the Thames, celebrating the important role the river has played in the life of the three counties over a thousand years. Four thousand guests will join The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh at the party, being jointly organised by the Lord-Lieutenants of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire as part of The Queen’s UK –wide Diamond Jubilee regional tour. More than a quarter of the tickets will be available through the public ballot which will be drawn on May 9. The ballot is open to adult residents of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Each successful applicant will be allocated a double ticket so they can bring a guest. The ballot closes on April 30 and successful applicants will be notified by the end of May. An application form can be downloaded from here and must be returned by post.

Chearsley Village Plan
Progress in developing this plan is being made with more households having registered their interest. It is hoped that another mail shot and an information desk on The Green on Monday June 4th, Chearsley’s Jubilee celebration day, will provide more information and interest and get as many people as possible involved and contributing their thoughts and ideas. The next Forum meeting will be held at the Cricket Club on Tuesday May 1 at 7.30pm.
