Thefts from vehicles - Long Crendon and Chearsley areas

This is a message from Thames Valley Alert Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

The Waddesdon Neighbourhood Policing team are warning residents to be vigilant following a number of recent thefts from vehicles, particularly in the Long Crendon and Chearsley areas.
The thefts occurred between 20th and 23rd of November and most of the vehicles targeted had been left insecure.  Property stolen included a handbag, purse, sat nav system and other smaller items, such as keys, sunglasses and clothing.
  • Please make sure your own vehicle is locked when parked up.
  • Don’t leave any property in your vehicle, especially anything that might tempt a potential thief.
  • Don’t be tempted to ‘hide’ items in the glove box, under seats or in the boot etc – criminals are likely to check all of these places.
Make sure any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the Police – when it is occurring.  Where possible obtain a description of any people, along with the make, model, colour and registration number of any vehicle.  Don’t leave it to someone else to report – you might be the only witness.

If you have any information in relation to any of these recent thefts please call the Police on the 24 hour non emergency number of 101.
If you don’t want to speak to the Police or give your details you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
