For Carers of people with Dementia or those who have Dementia
Please help to spread the word about two essential services which can support those who care for a partner, parent, relative or friend who has any sort of dementia or the person with dementia themselves.
The online service is available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
The phone service is available 9 – 5 Mon to Fri and 10 – 4 weekends.
Neither replaces the local Alzheimer’s Society personal support (01296 331722 or aylesbury@alzheimers.org.uk) but they may suit some people.
Phone: 0300 222 1122
Trained helpline advisers can discuss any concerns about all forms of dementia.
They can provide information on understanding dementia, treatments, how to get help locally, maintaining independence, financial and legal matters, changes in relationships and behaviour, community care and long-stay care.
(Put 18001 in front of this number if you use RNID Typetalk)
Online: Alzheimers.org.uk/talkingpoint
This is an online community of carers who share information and support each other from personal experience. Anyone with access to the internet can browse the information on Talking Point but if you want to communicate with others and ask your own questions, you will need to register.
