Community Messagess from Aylesbury Watch Office on Thursday 20 May 2010.

A theft of vehicle has been reported from Brill Road, Oakley at around 7:20pm on the 18 May. The owner of a black Volkswagen Golf had the vehicle up for sale. An Asian male came to look at the vehicle and asked to sit in the drivers seat. Whilst in the vehicle he asked if he could listen to the engine - the owner who was stood 2 meters away gave him the keys at which point the offender central locked the vehicle and drove off at speed. The vehicle is still currently outstanding.

Police would like to hear from anyone that might have witnessed any other persons or vehicles in the area around the time given or anything that might be related to this incident. A distraction burglary has been reported in Willis Road, Haddenham at around 10.30am on the 19 May. A male called at the address of an elderly occupant stating he was from the electricity company. He read the meter and stated that some work needed to be done, showing the occupant a £50 note and asking if they had any change. The offender then said that the work had been done and asked the resident to plug in an electrical item upstairs to check the system. Whilst the occupant was upstairs cash was then taken from a cabinet downstairs.

The offender was a white male, in his late 40's and around 5'8''.

Please remain vigilant and ensure you check the identity of any unknown or unexpected callers at your premise. If in doubt check any identification given with the company that they claim to work for. Call the Police if you have any doubt that they are genuine.
